Frenay & Lenin notes

Frenay & Lenin - Summer 2025
 
A few thoughts as Arty & I approach our 48th year together. So many of you who have supported us for years continue to do so, and that means a lot to us. We love playing music together, or we wouldn’t still be doing it. But what we love even more, is seeing all of our friends again, and that sense of community we have with all of you. Thank you so much for that. 
 
A few highlights I want to emphasize:
 
• Our summer FabCats schedule is less than usual, but still covers the north, south, east & west sides of CNY. Pull up a canvas chair and join us!
 
• We’ve added a new duo room that we’re really excited about. Fireside By The River is the newly-remodeled Fireside Inn. The owner is our old friend Brian Holmes (Green Lakes Lanes), and we’re really looking forward to having a new somewhat-steady gig. Shades of our Sheraton Inn Wednesdays!
 
• Along with Flashcubes’ drummer Tommy Allen, I will be a part of a very special night of music at the Cutting Room in NYC on Tuesday, May 27. The show is a tribute to Badfinger and Joey Molland, who passed away earlier this year. The event will help to defray medical costs from his hospital stay at the end of his life. The show will feature Tommy & I, with Mark Hudson, Steve Holley (Wings), Billy J. Kramer, Drew Hill (Liverpool) and even a few local CNY musicians, Paul Davie & Cathy LaManna.
 
If any of the dates listed below are close to you, please come out and say hi. As the years roll on, there are less and less opportunities for us all to convene. And I think we all need that connection.
